Cricinfo has changed.

I am sure I’m not the only one who went over to and had to make sure you hadn’t arrived at the wrong destination.

It is best described as the old cricinfo pimped out. The old website was a dino in terms of website design. It had a simple left panel navigation and it was pretty easy to use.

The new one is sleeker, with uber cool tabbed menus and the lot.

Sambit Bal, ol’ editor and chief, says its a celebration of content. We are sure it is.

From the lighter scorecards to the gawdy black main news content area.We like the new look. Its web 2.0.(I’m not sure if it really is but it sounds cool to say that)

It makes cricinfo look modern and with 2020 changing the world game, it was only a matter of time before our staple cricinfo took on a new direction too.

Of course we have been spared the trouble of typing in but we might as well now that it covers approximately 5/10ths the page!

Some people are complaining about the black main news area. I think its a cool contrast to the rest of the page and makes it pop. Plus it might also be cricinfos way of saving more energy. Because we all know a black page takes up less energy to be displayed.

Unfortunately what really hurt my eyes, and possibly an oversight on Sambit and Co’s celebration of content is Brett Lee glaring at us wearing a weird looking black glove, on the front page.

No publishing body, should ever stoop to such lows.

Lee was cool in 2005, but he seems to have gotten on my wrong side along the way and seems to annoy me every time I see him. This may or may not have anything to do with him trying to cover up his receding hair line with the ol ‘tin tin’ do.

We’ve all tried it Brett. And it doesn’t work.

It just makes you look like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time in ‘Something about Mary.’

Besides that top job cricinfo.
